Post Op

Well we are back at the hotel now. In this video you get to hear from me first hand as I am being wheeled out of the OR. You also get to here my doctors thoughts on how the procedure went.

Mike ended up having 3 valves that required angioplasty. His left jugular is abnormally small, another abnormal valve near his collar bone and his azygos vein in his chest required a stent.

After a long morning of waiting Mike got into surgery around 1:45 pm.

Morning of…

The day is here! I had to wake up at 5 am to eat and then go back to sleep, woke up and started preping for sugery.

We will be leaving at 8:30 am for our drive to Downey Vascular which is just over an hour away,  we are giving ourselves a bit of time to find the place and taking traffic in to consideration, to still  make it on time for 10:00am. My surgery isn’t until 12 noon and can take 30 min to a few hours. Charity will update you all with Facebook posts and blogs.

I’m Pretty freaked out about the valve being ripped out. Lets hope it isnt like the doctor described it as a feeling like being stabbed in the back or your heart being ripped out. Make sure you check back to see how it went.

Consult

After appointments being shifted back and forth we finally got in to a dual appointment with Jeff, my cousin, at 4:30 pm.

Consultation with Dr. Arata

The doctor notified me of the abnormality in my azygos vein in my chest, which may be caused by an abnormal valve or blockage of the vein; which may require a stent.

My surgery is scheduled for 12 noon tomorrow.

MRV

Posted in Uncategorized on October 29, 2010 by mike1225

This morning I had my MRV just 8 minutes away; easier said then done. It took us 20 minutues to get there, because we missed the turn.

After 2 hours of pictures now it is just a wait to find out if I need to get Liberated

Down to Business

On our drive back to the hotel during rush hour was slow moving. We made a pitt stop to Disney Land, Downtown for something to eat. Which ended up to be a BAD choice with Charity on the loose. Stopping in stores and looking at everything… and Restaurants were packed there; we just ended up getting a couple sandwiches and continued our way back to the hotel. By this time the traffic had lifted and it was a smooth 10 minutes back to the hotel.

Jeff and Maureen had just got in minutes before us. We found them in the hotel restaurant.

Tomorrow morning is my first and most crucial appointment. My MRV at 7 am; then my consultation at 3 pm which will tell me if I am eligible for the surgery.
